On October 3, 2021 we gathered at the Mountain View Civic Center Plaza to celebrate the Day Worker Center's 25th Anniversary. The day truly felt magical and we thank everyone who joined us in such an important milestone in the Center's history!

An original song dedicated to the Day Worker Center, written by Erwin Choc, member of the Center. Erwin wrote the song for the Center’s 25th anniversary and expresses what the Day Worker Center means to him. In the video, Erwin sings the song during our Volunteer Celebration in July 2022. Our Master of Ceremony was Celina Rodriguez, from La Kaliente 1370 AM and Radio Celina, who has been part of our celebrations since our 10th Anniversary

Leading up to our 25th anniversary celebration, our quilt exhibit "Traveling Stitches" was open in the Mountain View City Hall from September 20th to October 21st, showcasing quilts made by workers at the Center, alongside volunteer, Naomi Zamir:
“In September 2010, while waiting to be employed through the Day Worker Center of Mountain View, about 140 men and women from all over the world were involved in a quilt making project. The initial idea was to create personal textile appliqués, presenting and talking about them as a fun and interesting way to practice English. It turned out that each picture opened a window to the inner world of the individuals who sat at the table and provided a focal point for conversation among them.
The format of a quilt was the best choice for representing the images, and the experience we went through. Unfortunately, we do not have all the names of the workers who contributed to this wonderful project. Nevertheless, the squares depict stories, memories, dreams, ideas, and hopes of the day workers. The design of the quilts illuminates each individual panel while creating a unity between them”

A game of loteria was led by Teacher Bayard Nelson. The playing cards were made especially for the Center by Notre Dame High School students in Spanish 3 Honors
