Day Worker Center Offers Free Trainings for E-Tools
The Day Worker Center of Mountain View offers a variety of trainings for free including how to properly use E-Tools. After completing the training, the Center supports the worker to find a job where they will use the tool at no cost. Other trainings the workers receive are ESL, bike repair and gardening.

Boosting Nutrition for Vulnerable Populations
"This year the district funded 14 programs that promote healthy eating with grants totaling $1.193 million. Two of these are Hope's Corner and the Day Worker Center of Mountain View. Together these two programs will help more than 1,500 people living this year within the district’s boundaries.”

“The opportunities provided by the center have been invaluable for immigrants like Marcelino and Estrada. But there have been challenges for the center, particularly in recent years, as there increasingly are fewer jobs for manual laborers, Marroquín said. When employers are looking workers, they tend to pick the younger, stronger and more agile laborers, she added.”

Holiday Fund: From hot meals to job placement, the Day Worker offers a host of services
“The Day Worker Center is one of seven nonprofit organizations serving Mountain View residents that benefit from the Voice's annual Holiday Fund. Donations to the fund are divided equally among the nonprofits, with 100% of contributions go to the recipients.”

The Day Worker Center of Mountain View and its support for COPA
Besides the commitment that the Day Worker Center has with all workers, in all aspects of work, health, information, education and housing, the Center is supporting the COPA movement led by the Mountain View Tenants Coalition. This movement has the objective of promoting stable housing for the residents of Mountain View.

Holiday Fund: Day Worker Center of Mountain View celebrates 25 years of helping out
This year the Day Worker Center of Mountain View is a beneficiary of the Mountain View Voice 2021 Holiday Fund. Donations to the fund are divided equally among seven nonprofits and with the support of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, 100% of donations go directly to the nonprofits.
